CCIS Center For Contemporary Italian Studies
The Center for Contemporary Italian Studies brings together international academics and professionals to complement the educational and cultural mission of schools associated with Palazzi - Florence Association for International Education.
The center offers a cultural and social program, open to students and the general public throughout the academic year. Offerings include, but are not limited to:

MISSION
We seek to engage our public with an interdisciplinary approach to the study, examination and discussion of contemporary Italian issues.
ADVISORY BOARD
The Advisory Board is an international group of Italian studies experts who support the center through discussion and consultation regarding academic and cultural programs and initiatives. The following board members have most graciously accepted to serve from January 2009 to December 2010.

CCIS WORKING GROUP
The center’s working group is made up of professionals who collaborate with CCIS.
The center is interested in working with worldwide experts on Italian studies who are interested in contributing to our on-line magazine RIVISTA, which will debut in September 2009. RIVISTA will be a new forum for opinion, research, and debate on contemporary Italian issues as well as highlighting new and upcoming photographers and artists.

Italian Afternoon Film Series
The CCIS film series is part of the intensive language program and is also open to the general public. Every Tuesday at 12:00 the CCIS offers an Italian film with commentary. Please consult the calendar for film titles and synopsis. Non-students should call or e-mail their participation

Italian Afternoon Lecture Series
The CCIS lecture series is part of the intensive language program and is also open to the general public. Every Monday at 12:00 the CCIS offers a short lecture and discussion on a current cultural, social or political theme followed by discussion. Please consult the event calendar as the same lecture is often offered both in English and Italian. Non-students should call or e-mail their participation.

CONFERENCE
Squola: Center for Contemporary Italian Studies in collaboration with the institutions of Palazzi are able to offer modern and affordable academic conferencing facilities. A very important feature of conferencing with CCIS is that all events are incorporated in to the learning experience of the Florence Campus students under instructor guidance who carry out the organization, catering, serving, registration aspects of any conference.
We are able to offer meeting spaces that vary in capacity from ten to fifty persons as well as a compact cinema which seats up to fifty people. In addition, in collaboration with associate school Apicius, an in-house catering service is available as well as private events and dinners at GANZO, which serves as a restaurant, exhibition venue and professional training center for culinary and hospitality management students. All conference materials and publications can also be designed and produced by our communications department and in-house publishing house Ingorda.
