Italian Language Programs
Center for Contemporary Italian Studies is an academic center specialized in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language as well as accredited, university-level courses in Italian Literature and Italian Studies in collaboration with Florence University of the Arts.
Throughout the academic year more than 100+ semester long Italian language classes as well as our ongoing intensive immersion program form the core of the center’s program. All academic courses are complemented by the center’s public film and lecture series as well as conferences on specialized topics.
SQUOLA offers several different combinations of language study, academic courses and the opportunity to experience a professional internship experience.
Intensive Italian Program
This is the core program that runs throughout year. It is a morning course that combines language study, lecture and film series, and language through cooking in three-week modules.
Total Immersion Program
Allows participants to further their classroom experience through an Italian home stay.
Italian Language, Food Culture and Society
This combines the intensive three-week language module with a series of cooking and wine classes held at Apicius International School of Hospitality.
Italian Language and Internship
This unique program combines language study with real-life application through a final internship. This program consists of at least two language modules and a four-week internship. Students do have the possibility of extending their internship.
Italian Studies Semester
This program is offered three times during the year, Fall, Spring and Summer and allows the serious language student to take four modules of language as well as an Italian studies course.
